At Lindberg International we have our business-to-business clients’ word for that we truly deliver useful insight. However, we often find it difficult to convince new clients that we can help them being even more successful. They are skeptical because many b-to-b companies have experienced that lots of research is a waste of time and money. There are two reasons for that:

1) When consultants are researchers you don’t get real insight 
Too many research consultants are experienced and skilled researchers. But if they lack practical b-to-b experience from actually having worked at a b-to-b company the research more often than not ends up as being theoretically excellent, but more or less useless in real life. You don’t need research, you need insight, and the difference comes when a consultant adds practical experience to the research.

2) You can’t apply b-to-c research methods to b-to-b problems 
There are many more b-to-c companies who buy research and their research budgets are also much bigger than the budgets of b-to-b companies. The obvious and natural consequence of this is that the vast majority of research companies try to apply b-to-c research methods to b-to-b problems. You know that the b-to-c and b-to-b worlds are very different, so obviously the same should apply to the research methods applied.

At Lindberg International we do things differently: Compared to at least 99% of other research companies in the world we provide our business-to-business clients with two overriding advantages:

1) Our consultants know and understand your world 
To be a consultant at Lindberg International, one must have a high level of commercial education. However, more importantly, they must have held a managerial position within either sales or marketing at a company in our target group. This ensures that we don’t just deliver research, but valuable insight because we understand the often times tough world of our clients.

2) The whole world is our workplace  
To us, the location of any project is never a barrier. At our head office in Aarhus, Denmark we have employees from more than 20 different countries. Being natives they have an excellent knowledge of the local way of doing business, but even more important: By carrying out all projects with our own people, we can both ensure a high level of quality throughout the countries we work with and at the same time reduce costs to our clients.

That’s the way it has been since I founded the company in 1995. And I will never let go of these basic, but hugely important principles.
